Hi, I’m Dominique — the hands behind Barro Vivo.

Originally from Belgium, I now live and create in northern Portugal.

Ceramics started as a passion alongside my full-time job and quickly became a place where I could slow down, create, and reconnect with the joy of making things by hand.

From my small studio in Coronado, near Porto, I create handmade ceramics inspired by natural textures,
earthy tones, and the landscapes around me — from my garden to the nearby ocean.

Each piece is shaped, individually glazed, and fired by hand in small batches in my studio,
making every piece unique.

When I’m not working with clay, you’ll often find me in the garden — another place where I enjoy slowing down and being close to nature.
