Every ceramic piece at Barro Vivo is made using carefully selected materials from trusted ceramic suppliers and internationally recognized clay and glaze brands.

I currently work with high-quality clays for both stoneware and earthenware ceramics from producers such as Vicente Díez, SIO-2 and Sibelco — materials widely used by ceramic artists and studios across Europe.

For glazes, I mainly work with brands like Botz, Amaco Brent, Mayco and Spectrum, known for their durability, food-safe finishes and beautiful effects.
These glazes are professionally developed and tested for ceramic firing, allowing me to focus on creating pieces that are both functional and expressive, while continuing to deepen my understanding of the materials themselves.

At this moment, I do not yet formulate my own glazes from raw materials.
Glaze chemistry is a world of its own, and I believe it deserves proper time, research and learning before doing so responsibly.

Ceramics is an endless learning process, and I enjoy taking the time to truly understand the materials I work with — how they react, change and sometimes surprise me in the kiln.

Each firing is part of an ongoing process of experimentation, learning and refinement.
